Why did I do it?
1. To prove myself that there's no such thing as a creative block for me. I have tons of original ideas in the form of dreams. Having kept a dream journal since my early teenage years, I was able to develop the ideas into a lot of stories, concepts, etc.
2. By leveraging the power of Leonardo.Ai, I spent around 15-20 minutes everyday trying to document my cinematic dreams as accurately as possible. Once documented, the Sky is the limit to develop these into well woven stories!
3. It's either procrastination or trying to be a perfectionist. but ideas are infinite. With hard & smart work, persistence, I can make them into compelling works!
4. It looks really cool. Like a Netflix UI, where every tile is a film.
The Rules I set for myself:
1. Only spend the free quota of tokens given every day by Leonardo.AI.
2. I can use any feature within the software, but I cannot use any other software for editing.
3. Be as descriptive as possible. As a director, I must explain the shots, angles, subject, foreground and background elements, and most of all the lighting really well to the AI model right from the beginning.
4. Do not spend more than 20-25 minutes during this whole process.
5. BE PERSISTENT.
Learnings and Observations:
1. By documenting my dreams every day, I became more conscious and aware of my dreams, allowing me to maximize my creative potential.
2. I have a pattern of dreams: Larger than life, Action/adventure, dreamy, past memories, horror (nightmares), etc.
3. My dreams were sometimes based on how I had slept and what happened on the day before.
4. As a filmmaker, it isn't surprising to dream cinematically. I also have a colour palette - which is also reflected in my films!
5. I can Lucid dream quite well! But if I went to bed really exhausted, I have no memory of any dreams.
6. All of my dreams have really good sound design, music, has poetic lyrics, vocals, and great background score - which reflects how much care I put into sound in my works.
7. 50% my dreams have emotions and a lot of meaning behind them. They would be really compelling even after waking up and having a think.
8. It took me around 40 days to finish the project because I sometimes felt like certain dreams were too petty to document or I did not have any dream at all as I was very tired.
